This Fall is all about (re)igniting our Goddess and God Flames!


This week’s (God)dess flame re-ignition comes in the form of Root Chakra Activation! The root chakra is the foundation of our energy system. When it's balanced, we feel grounded, secure, and connected to the earth. An unbalanced root chakra can lead to feelings of anxiety, fear, and instability, affecting our overall health and well-being.


We’ll begin our FRESHFIT Fall 2024 journey here to set a strong foundation for the successes we'll achieve throughout this Series. Check out what all is in store!


Weekly Overview:





Did you know that the planets, way up in space, can actually influence your day-to-day life? It's true! Just like how the moon affects the tides (and even our cycles 🩸👀), planetary positions can impact our moods, decisions, and even our relationships. This week, we've got some juicy cosmic event going on that might be affecting you. Let's dive in and see what the planets have in store!

About the Root Chakra

The root chakra is the foundational in linking our internal energetic body with the physical world, i.e. it is foundational to shaping our external reality. This week’s activities are designed to: Promote a sense of grounding and stability; Reduce feelings of anxiety and fear; Enhance self-confidence and security; Encourage a deeper connection to the earth and your physical body. Wellness Activity #1

Our high-powered affirmations centered on root chakra cleansing, balancing and activation have been curated to instill and empower the confidence to shift to an optimistic mindset and manifest your ideal reality. I love reciting or listening to affirmations when I wake up to help set the tone for the day. Use them however they serve you best! Short on time? Your Challenge: Daily Affirmations

Affirmations are the act of affirming/confirming something to be true. How we talk to and about ourselves becomes our reality! And for this reason, a consistent affirmation practice can be life changing. Recite (or listen to) the following Affirmation Practice into your daily routine and notice how you feel.


High-Powered Affirmations List:

  • My root chakra is balanced and strong, radiating stability and confidence throughout my being.

  • I am grounded and connected to the Earth, feeling stable and secure in my being.

  • I am rooted in my truth and stand firm in my beliefs and values.

  • I release any fears or insecurities that are holding me back, allowing myself to feel safe and supported.

  • I operate from a space of abundance.

  • The universe provides for me, and I release any fear of lack.

  • I trust in the abundance of the universe and know that I am always provided for.

  • I am open to receiving prosperity and deserve financial security.

  • I am present in my body and feel safe inhabiting it fully

  • I honor my body as a sacred vessel and treat it with love and respect.

  • I am worthy of love and belonging, just as I am.

  • I release any past traumas or negative energies that are blocking my root chakra, allowing for healing and renewal.

  • I am connected to the powerful energy of the Earth, drawing strength, abundance and a potent sense of belonging and connection to all living beings.

  • My foundation is secure, and I feel safe and supported in the world.

  • I embrace change and transformation, knowing that it is necessary for growth and evolution.

  • I trust my intuition and inner strength to guide me through any challenge.

  • I am open to receiving the support and guidance of the universe, trusting in the divine plan for my life.

  • I am balanced, grounded, and aligned with my true purpose, ready to manifest my dreams and desires.

TIPS:

  • Whether or not you listen, say them out loud or to yourself, you’re doing it right. The key to affirmations is feeling them to be true. And they are. Now go affirm yourself (God)dess!


Wellness Activity #2

This week of grounding is a great time to practice intentional self-exploration. Here are some journaling prompts to help you connect with your root chakra and navigate the current astrological energies. These prompts are meant to serve as support and guidance in your “journaling journey”. Make this practice your own!


Your Challenge: Journaling Prompts

Below you’ll find some journaling prompts for the week. Your challenge is to spend 5-10 minutes everyday this week to write about any prompt of your choosing. These prompts have been designed to help you connect with your root chakra and navigate the current astrological energies:


  • What are my core values and beliefs, and how do they align with my current path?

  • What hidden truths am I uncovering about myself and my relationships?

  • What steps can I take to strengthen my trust in others?

  • What nourishes my body and how can I use this to create a sense of stability in my daily life?

  • How can I cultivate a more optimistic and adventurous outlook on life?

  • What are my goals and aspirations, and what steps can I take to achieve them?

  • What are my deepest desires and passions?

  • What do I need to release or let go of to make space for new beginnings?

  • What steps can I take to reduce stress and anxiety?


Root Chakra Activation:

  • How grounded and stable do I feel right now?

  • What can I do to cultivate a stronger sense of security?

  • What are my fears and insecurities, and how can I address them?


TIPS:

  • Journaling is a beautiful way to release and reintroduce you to yourself. It provides a safe, brave space for you to explore your inner world. And sometimes that can seem daunting. So remember:

    • Perfection doesn't exist! - Your entries do not have to be perfectly formatted, edited or written. Just write what flows to you with each prompt.

    • Make it fun! - don’t be scared to make your journal cute - adorn it with pics, stickers, quotes, doodles, etc. that make you feel good.

    • Consistency is KEY! - Trust me, the more you do it, the easier it becomes - like riding a bike…or something else lol. This is how we form habits. Consider incorporating journaling into your AM or PM routine. This can elevate your practice exponentially. Whether you’re using your practice to set the tone for your day or decompress and release after a long day, Embrace the flow!


Wellness Activity #3

Time to eat! The Quinoa and Roasted Root Vegetable Bowl is a great recipe that aligns with the cleansing and balancing of the root chakra. This nutrient-rich dish features nourishing root vegetables, which are grounding and supportive for the root chakra, along with yummy protein-rich quinoa for added sustenance. See how to make it below!






Ingredients:

For the Bowl:

- 1 cup quinoa

- 2 cups vegetable broth or water

- 1 medium sweet potato, peeled and diced

- 2 medium carrots, peeled and sliced

- 1 medium beet, peeled and diced

- 1 tablespoon olive oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary (optional)

For the Dressing:

- 2 tablespoons tahini

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey

- 1-2 tablespoons water (to thin)

- Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Toppings:

- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped

- Sliced avocado

- Pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds


Instructions:


1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).


2. Prepare the Quinoa: Rinse the quinoa under cold water. In a medium saucepan, combine the quinoa and vegetable broth (or water). Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the quinoa is fluffy and the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.


3. Roast the Vegetables: On a baking sheet, toss the diced sweet potato, carrots, and beet with olive oil, salt, pepper, and dried herbs (if using). Spread them out in a single layer and roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelized, stirring halfway through.


4. Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, lemon juice, maple syrup (or honey), and water until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more water if needed, and season with salt and pepper to taste.


5. Assemble the Bowl: In serving bowls, layer the cooked quinoa and roasted root vegetables. Drizzle with the tahini dressing and top with fresh herbs, avocado slices, and seeds if desired.


6. Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy your nourishing quinoa and roasted root vegetable bowl warm, savoring the grounding flavors and vibrant colors!

The grounding nature of sweet potatoes, carrots, and beets helps promote stability and nourishment, while the tahini dressing adds healthy fats and protein.
